Our Purpose
We believe that our purpose is, by God’s grace, to foster a balanced and healthy ministry that is directed upward (to God)1, inward (to each other at Pathway) 2, and outward (to the community of Abbotsford and to the world)3
Colossians 3:1-3, ESV
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.1 Peter 4:8-10, ESV
Above all, keep on loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another [...]1 Corinthians 12:25-26, ESV
[Let there] be no division in the body, but that the members [...] have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.1 Peter 2:9, ESV
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Our mission at Pathway
The proverb “Where there is no vision, the people perish” is often quoted out of context, yet a fundamental truth remains: visionless churches are often directionless and sometimes stagnant churches. At Pathway, we have endeavored in our ministry to establish core values and strategic goals designed to bring glory to Christ, strengthen our members, and attract the lost.
Niche
Pathway will use the blessing of its strong community to intentionally train 1 each member of our congregation to be a better disciple of Jesus Christ. While we are doing this, we will work to draw others into our community so that they may become followers of Jesus as well. We will also work to create strong relationships with each other so that we can carry each other’s burdens 2, encourage each other 3, and pray 4 for each other.
Proverbs 27:17, ESV
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.Galatians 6:2, ESV
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.1 Thessalonians 5:14, ESV
And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.Hebrews 10:24-25, ESV
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.James 5:16, ESV
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
